Event Details

There are many ways that information about young people in Somerville is spread; email, list-servs, blogs, newsletters, phone calls, posters and flyers in backpacks to name a few.

At this event, we're gathering people in Somerville who can help ensure that information related to supporting young people is well distributed across the city. Right now, information related to young people (school and community events, after-school activities and other opportunities) is scattered across many online and media sites in Somerville. Come join us to discuss how to work together to make sure information that supports kids and families reaches everyone who wants it.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Who should attend?

Somerville residents who create media or distribute information that supports kids and families in Somerville via email lists, websites and blogs in addition to social media such as Facebook pages and groups, Twitter and YouTube.

The OneVille Project

We believe strongly that to pursue young people’s success, people who share communities need to communicate about how young people are doing and work together to provide opportunities to every child.

We are a community action and research team supported by a two year planning grant from the Ford Foundation, to pilot projects in partnership with the school district, the city, and Somerville’s rich network of young people, agencies, teachers, families, and volunteers.

We've been learning from folks across Somerville about existing communications and relationships affecting young people. We're now working with community partners on tools and strategies that support ongoing conversation and partnership among the people in Somerville young people’s lives.
